David Snyder was born, raised and lives in Anchorage, Alaska. He obtained a Master’s degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and has worked with geographic information systems for many years. He has also taught both physical and human geography at the University of Alaska – Anchorage, which was the impetus for this book.


David Snyder is happy to present lectures on themes from the book. He's presented the talk, "The Geologic History of Southcentral Alaska" to the Chugach Gem and Mineral Society, the Alaskan Prospector's Society and the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. He's also presented a talk entitled "Explanations of the Northern Susitna Landscape and Local Explorations with the High-Resolution LIDAR Data" at the Northern Sustina Institute in Talkeetna.
